WOW!! What an incredible day of Brazilian Culture. This was our first day time Brazilian Day Arizona event since our inception back in 2010. The event has previously been held at night, and its always been a 21 and over event. For 2013, we wanted to expand, and see if we could bring the community together for a fun day time event that would allow all ages to come out and have some fun.
Our goal was to make the 4th annual Brazilian Day festival a featured show that would allow us to both produce live entertainment, and educational elements that would engage the crowd to learn more about Brazilian culture and what its like to live as a Brazilian! 2 stages, both inside and out kept the day grooving and moving as the outside stage hosted bands, djs and dancers performing to the sounds of Samba, Samba Soul, Reggae, Bossa Nova and more! The inside stage was also equally loaded as instructors from Brazil, Arizona and Los Angeles took to the stage to help educate the festival attendees young and old about the various regions of Brazil, and all its many influences. This years event featured a variety of Brands and Performers making there debut to Phoenix, the USA and to Brazilian Day Arizona. Afro:Baile Records also brought out one of there premier bands on the label, Boca do Rio. Boca is a Samba Soul . Bossa Beat . Electronic Groove band that has released 2 singles on the Label. Other artists making there debut included Bloco Axe, a newly formed 10 piece Batucada band from Los Angeles. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you next year, as Brazilian Day Arizona turns 5!! Next Brazilian Day - September 6th 2014. VIEW MORE PHOTOS FROM 2013 (HERE) Thank you to the Arizona Republic and Photographer Cydney McFarland for snapping these photos at Brazilian Day this past Saturday (7th). We appreciate the support!
