BOCA DO RIO // 3:55pm - 4:55pm
Composer, guitarist, and vocalist Kevin Welch is Boca’s leader. BOCA DO RIO refers to their work as “música orgânica.” Live Brazilian music inspired by the thousands of musicians and the music lovers that have gone before us to lay the rhythmic foundations of samba, baião and samba-reggae. “The African diaspora of live rhythms and pulses – it is the commonality that binds humans to the air we breathe, the food from which we nourish, the water we imbibe, and the love through which we flourish," states Welch.

The Dam is breaking; is a raw, organic, Brazilian Soul album sung both in Portuguese and English, giving listeners the best of both worlds, as they live, love and dance to the rhythms. The music is a representation of all the things that BOCA DO RIO stands for, while pollinating the world through acoustic melodies, electric guitars, percussive beats, and enough Soul to bring the energy and vibe of Brazil to your airwaves.

Based in San Francisco, California, BOCA DO RIO takes its name from the Portuguese “mouth of the river” – the place where myriad streams and sources converge into one powerful, flowing, physical energy.  BOCA DO RIO exists to share and celebrate music and everything that it brings to our lives through the cross-pollination of the Americas.. www.BocadoRio.com
